Overview

The W202 was the first C-Class, replacing the 190E (W201) as Mercedes' compact sedan. It introduced more rounded styling and a wider body while retaining the multi-link rear suspension. Available with four-cylinder, six-cylinder, and diesel engines, the C36 and C43 AMG models established AMG's presence in the compact segment.

From Our Technicians

The W202 C36 AMG and C43 AMG are increasingly collectible. We handle several in our regular rotation. The 722.6 transmission in these is very durable when serviced properly. Budget for wiring harness replacement on pre-1997 cars.
