Beach Benz opened in 1990 on Slater Avenue in Huntington Beach and has done the same thing every day since: look after Mercedes-Benz. Not German cars. Not European imports. Mercedes-Benz.
Every technician in the building is Mercedes-Benz factory trained. That focus is the whole business model: it is why we own factory diagnostic equipment most independents cannot justify, why the parts on our shelves actually fit the car on the lift, and why an owner can describe a noise over the phone and hear a useful answer back.

How we work
The car gets diagnosed before it gets quoted.
Most of the expensive mistakes we see arrived from somewhere else: a part replaced because a code named it, a transmission condemned because of a cracked conductor plate, an engine written off over a stretched timing chain. Parts-swapping is expensive, and on a Mercedes it is very expensive.
So every car gets scanned with factory Xentry, tested mechanically to confirm what the data suggests, and photographed where it helps you understand. Then you get a call — what failed, what caused it, what it costs, and what can safely wait until the next visit.
If a repair is not worth doing on your particular car, we will tell you that too. Thirty-five years of customers came from being straight with people, not from selling them the biggest job on the estimate.

1990
The doors open on Slater Avenue
Beach Benz starts as a two-bay shop with one specialty and no intention of taking anything else in.
2000s
The electronics era arrives
CAN bus, SBC brakes, AIRMATIC and COMAND. We invest in factory Star Diagnostic equipment rather than guessing with generic scanners.
2010s
Classics come home
As dealers stop supporting older chassis, Pagodas, R107s and W126s find their way to us. We keep the tooling and the knowledge alive.

We show you the failed part, explain what caused it and tell you what can wait. If a repair is not worth doing on your car, we will say so.
