  • "Service A due in X miles" or a wrench symbol on the cluster

  • A used purchase with no documented service history

How we approach it

Mercedes-Benz alternates Service A and Service B for the life of the car: A at 10,000 miles, B at 20,000, A again at 30,000, and so on. Service A covers synthetic motor oil and a genuine oil filter, a correction of every fluid level, tire inflation to the door-jamb specification, a full brake component inspection, and a reset of the ASSYST Plus maintenance counter. Having it done here rather than at the dealer does not affect your factory warranty — under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, an independent shop using approved parts and procedures keeps your coverage intact. What changes is the price, and who you talk to about your car.

Common questions

What exactly is Mercedes Service A?

Service A is the lighter of the two alternating factory maintenance services: synthetic oil and filter, all fluid levels corrected, tire pressures set, a brake inspection, and a reset of the maintenance counter. It is due at 10,000 miles or one year, whichever arrives first.

How much does Service A cost at Beach Benz?

Typically $145 to $285 depending on the engine and how much oil it takes — a four-cylinder C-Class sits at the bottom of that range, an AMG V8 at the top. Dealers in Orange County commonly charge $250 to $400 for the same work. Call with your model and we will quote it exactly.

Will having Service A done here void my Mercedes warranty?

No. Federal law protects your right to have scheduled maintenance performed by an independent shop. We use MB-approved oil and genuine filters, and we document everything, so your warranty and your service history both stay intact.

What is the difference between Service A and Service B?

Service B includes everything in Service A plus a cabin combination filter replacement and a full brake fluid exchange. A is the 10,000-mile service; B is the 20,000-mile service, and they alternate from there.
