Wiring Harness Repair
Mercedes used soy-based insulation on several generations of harness. It ages, cracks, and shorts — and it is why an otherwise healthy car suddenly develops six unrelated faults.

How we approach it
We repair rather than replace wherever a repair is sound. Door harnesses fail at the flex point between body and door; engine harnesses fail where heat and oil meet; rodents chew whatever smells like a soybean. A new factory harness is often several thousand dollars and a day of labour, and in most cases it is not necessary. We locate the break with a wiring diagram and a meter, splice with proper solder-and-seal joints, and protect the repair with the correct loom so the failure does not walk back.

Common questions
Will my insurance cover rodent damage?
Comprehensive coverage often does. We document the damage with photographs and provide an itemised estimate you can submit to your carrier.
Can a bad harness really cause that many warning lights?
Yes. A single chafed CAN wire drops modules off the network, and every module that cannot see the others reports a fault. Fix the wire and a dozen codes disappear at once.
