COMAND & MBUX Repair
The screen in the dash talks to the rest of the car over MOST and CAN. When it goes dark, the fault is often not the screen.

How we approach it
COMAND generations NTG1 through NTG6 and the newer MBUX systems fail in predictable ways: delaminating displays, failed optical fibre rings, dead amplifiers, corrupted software, and hard drives that finally give up. Because the MOST ring is a loop, one sleeping component takes the whole system with it — which is why swapping the head unit rarely helps. We trace the ring, isolate the actual fault, and handle software updates, map updates, screen replacement, amplifier repair and factory-style CarPlay activation where the hardware supports it.

Common questions
Can you add CarPlay to my older Mercedes?
On many NTG5 and NTG5.5 cars, yes — it is an activation plus a cable, not a new head unit. On older NTG4 and earlier systems it requires an interface module. Tell us the year and model and we will tell you which camp you are in.
Is it worth repairing a 12-year-old COMAND unit?
Often yes. A screen or amplifier repair is a fraction of a replacement head unit, and a used unit still needs coding to your VIN. We will price both paths honestly and let you choose.
