Maintenance & Fluids
Fluid Services
Every fluid in a Mercedes has a specification, an interval, and a failure it prevents. Most owners only find out about the third one.
Signs you need this
- No documented fluid history on a used purchase
- Coolant that looks brown, green or cloudy
- Whining from the power steering or differential
- Approaching 40,000 miles since the last full fluid service
How we approach it
We keep every fluid in the car on schedule: MB-approved coolant that will not corrode aluminium, differential and transfer case oil that keeps gear sets alive, power steering fluid that stops pumps from whining, and brake fluid that does not boil. We record what was changed and when, so you and any future owner have a real service history. Where a car arrives with mystery fluids in it from a previous shop, we will flush and reset the record.
What the job includes
- 01Coolant drain, vacuum fill and bleed with MB-approved coolant
- 02Differential and transfer case fluid replacement
- 03Power steering flush with correct specification fluid
- 04Brake fluid change with moisture testing
- 05Fluid condition report on everything not yet due
- 06Written record of specifications and mileage
Common questions
Which fluids actually need doing on a schedule?
Brake fluid every two years and coolant every five are non-negotiable. Differential, transfer case and transmission depend on use — we will look at your car and tell you what is genuinely due rather than selling the full menu.
Can you use the coolant from a parts store?
Not in a Mercedes. The wrong chemistry gels in heater cores and eats aluminium water pumps. We stock the correct formulation.
Let us take a look at it.
Call and describe what the car is doing. We will give you an honest assessment before any work begins.
